The BLIZZARD of ‘09

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I would like to start off this post by telling you that I was just kidding when I wrote my last post regarding the massive impending blizzard-like snow storm we were about to get. My sister, brother and I had been going back and forth through email all day. They were sending pictures and snowfall amounts and my sister kept telling me that we were really in for it. Apparently, they each got over a foot.

My little joke yesterday was telling people about all the snow that had already fallen in states that are south of us. I said things like, “See? I told you. That’s why we don’t move down there. Too much snow.” Of course, we get more snow than them in general. I was being foolish and I apologize for the deception.

Throughout the day, important televised programs were interrupted by an over-eager weatherman forecasting the apocalypse, or armageddon if you will. Sorry, I just wanted to use those words. There were scrollers going across the screen, important updates, flashing lights and at times, the TV vibrated.

Are you ready for the official snowfall measurement? And to think, I ran out and bought an emergency case of baked beans.

Peter Gabriel

Can I ask you a question? Thanks.

Do you think I grew up living under a rock? I must have because I am the biggest loser when it comes to music. When people ask me what I like, I can only thing of something like four bands.

My lady and I merged all our music a few weeks back (now that’s commitment). Together, we have 393 albums. I have probably listened to about 10 of them.

If you remember back, by listening to one of her albums, I was introduced to “Days Of The New.” I have since then fallen in love with them.

Last night, I was cruising the albums and I decided to listen to this guy called Peter Gabriel. Of course I have heard of Peter Gabriel, but I couldn’t tell you the first thing about him more than one day ago. After reading his Wikipedia page and watching about 20 YouTube videos, I am well versed in all things Peter Gabriel.

I am digging this guy. Again, I am well aware of my loserishness.

I finished My First Bottle of Cologne

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

I think it’s actually after shave. I don’t shave with a blade, so it doesn’t go on my face. I think cologne and after shave are the same thing anyway. They smell the same.

Well, it’s official. I finished my first bottle of cologne…in my life. I think Laura got this for me a few years ago. I have been working on it every day. Am I the first male on the globe to actually finish a bottle of cologne? I think the tradition is to just keep getting them for birthdays and holidays, but I’m not sure what happens after that.

I fell in love with Aspen a long time ago while in my teenage years. It’s one of those colognes that you can pick up in Rite Aid for a few bucks. It has a nice smell. Now, onto my bottle of Cool Water. Oh, how cool it will be.
