I am not sure why I am still using Firefox. I was turned on to it a few years ago, when I thought Internet Explorer was too slow. It was, compared to Firefox. It wasn’t because of lack of features, because I’m not a features guy. It was simply because Firefox appeared to “glide” around, instead of being “choppy.” I guess they differ in how they load each page.
For the most part, I am very happy with Firefox. It does everything I want it to do (load web pages), but I do have two pretty major compaints:
- Firefox crashes when I close it. I would say this happens 9 times out of 10. I did a reinstall, but that didn’t help. I have also been waiting for this problem to cure itself with each upgrade, but it never does.
- Firefox crashes when I download more than two files. I can download one, no problem. I can download two, no problem. When I try to download three, every one of my Firefox windows disappears.
I have the Firefox crash report set to “on,” but I don’t think anyone over there is reading these things. Who knows, maybe they are. There are many things I am about to read over here. Maybe they will offer some insight on what’s going on.
I may consider giving Chrome a spin, but wanted to get some opinions on it first. If you are using Google Chrome, what do you think of it? Is it worth the download? Is it stable? Do you like Chrome better than Firefox and IE?

I was on the way back from Home Depot this afternoon, when I approached some commotion. As I pulled up a little further, I noticed a motorcycle on the side of the road, kind of crumpled up. It was laying on its side.
On the other side of the road, I saw a few people sitting next to a bald guy talking to him. He seemed to be wearing motorcycle riding clothing. I came to the conclusion that either he hit a car or a car hit him. There was a gas station right in the middle of the scene. I am just glad he was ok.
What strikes me as odd about the state of Connecticut is that there is no motorcycle helmet law. From what I have observed so far, about 1% of riders here actually wear helmets.
The law here states that if you are a motorcyclist, 17 years old or younger, you have to wear a helmet. If you are bicyclist, 15 years old or younger, you have to wear a helmet. I guess they put the lives of older individuals in their own hands. I suppose that’s ok.
The whole thing is weird because in New York, the law pretty much states you have to wrap yourself in bubble wrap every time you leave your house, no matter what you are doing. Seeing people fly by on the highway at 80mph with just sunglasses on is a little unnerving.

In my previous post, I think I mentioned that I can delete email on my Blackberry Curve and it would delete on my desktop email account, but not the other way around. Well, after having the phone for a day or two and not deleting email on it (only deleting the mail on my desktop), I am realizing that it actually does delete on the phone, it just takes a while.
Yeah, you don’t have to hit “reconcile” or anything, it does it automatically. This is nice because I really would have a large pile of email sitting on the phone if this wasn’t the case.
Also, I installed the Blackberry Desktop Software that came with the phone. I believe it was version 4.3. It generally worked ok, but did crash at times. I guess that it didn’t work ok then. I would have to undo all of the settings and reset them and then sync again. The crashes would occur at the end of the sync somewhere. Last night, I upgraded to the latest version of the Blackberry Desktop Software, version 4.5, and the phone and desktop synced just fine. There is also a new look to the software. I only synced up once, so I am crossing my fingers that it works without issue from here on in.
