Listening To Pandora On The Droid

Okay, so last night I figured out how to get some on my . It’s really easy. If you need help, let me know. Perhaps I will even write a post on to the . Who knows. What I do know is that I now have a player.

This evening (actually just a few minutes ago), I was reading an article about how of saw an increase in downloads yesterday. One such app that saw a big uptick in downloads is a player created by Pandora. When I read this, I said, “Hmmm.” I hadn’t really thought much about a player on a PDA that actually streamed from the . This opens up a whole new world.

I visited to see what it was all about. Apparently, some geniuses discovered a way to find that is similar to what you like. Basically, when you visit their homepage, you are asked to type in the name of a or group that you like. Then, will find that is similar to what you typed in and start playing it. I typed in “” and was happy to hear “” and “.” After that, I heard some . Where have I been? How long has this site been out there? It’s pretty awesome.

I haven’t tried to play any on the from yet. I downloaded the app and was warned that this service downloads some pretty hefty data, so I should be sure that I am on an unlimited data plan. I know I am, but I am going to give a call over to tomorrow just to make sure. Can you imagine that streams from the on a ? Now, can you imagine that this is what you actually like? That’s huge.

I could not get it to work on my Droid. The loading icon comes up when I create a station and it just spins. Did you do anything special to make it work?

  3. admin says:

I don’t think I did anything special. I experienced the same thing as you did with the spinning, but I only had 2 or 3 bars at the time. I closed it down after that and went online to register for an account. The next time I opened Pandora on my Droid, it began playing immediately.

I would suggest going outside or where there is stronger signal to give it a try. Also, have you registered online for a Pandora account?

I’d install this thing and use it if there were a plausible reason for it to have access to the contacts on my phone.

    Hi I need help…
I got the pandora downloaded on my droid and the first search i did was for the cure. It found me some albums and even other related groups similar to the cure. My problem is, how can i search for other types of music. I am stuck on the cure. Help!

I have same problem as you Lila… stuck on one station!

  7. aaron says:

Figured it out….. hit menu and log out. Now, log back in and nothing will be playing. Hit menu and you will now have the option to create a station available.

  8. hh says:

Yeah, that’s nuts. Why do they need access to my contacts? That’s way to much invasion of privacy.

  9. jordan says:

To change the station hit the far left botton on the pandora app when listening to a station. Then it the droid menu button (4 horizontal lines) and hit the button that says something similar to “Create a new station”. I still need to figure out what hitting the thumbs up and down button does.
