I hired a property manager and I do not deal with tenants at all. Sure he takes 10% of the rent, but you dont have to deal with finding tenants, or even the fact they can not change a light bulb. I am breaking even for now, but it is only been 3 years. Rent rates raise 3% a year while mortgage payment stays the same. I will make money in the long run.

I had a few friends who went to school there. I like those old houses. I have actually considered buying a few from time to time as rentals. Then, I heard some stories about tenant issues. I'm not sure I have the stomach for college kids anymore. What's your experience?

I enjoyed this post about shooting up a perfectly good work truck. Good times. Good memories, excellent details. I actually own two rental properties in Oneonta that I rent out to SUNY students. I used to party at the house right across the street from one that I own. Wierd feeling looking at a house with your daughter and wife where right across the street you threw up on the lawn. Good times.

Hey, it's the man himself. I think everyone was beginning to think you were a mythical figure.

Liz, yes, Rob certainly does seem to have a way with bringing out the red in Craig's face. Just ask him about the log he rolled into the door of Craig's tan dump truck.

That 14 year old pic of Rob looks like Rob today, but shrunken.
That story is beyond hysterical.
I love picturing Rob, happy as a pig, firing away. And then Craig, turning as red as a human being can turn and yelling "Robert!"
I can picture it, I can hear it.
You really do have a great descriptive way of writing...

Hi Jay, That was a very accurate description of what happened that day on "The Farm". Craig got me back a little later that year by selling a $1000.00 Lawn mower I was keeping at his house. When I asked him where it was he replied... I thought it was garbage. I loved the way you told that story, it was like I re-lived that awesome day! Just for the record, I would do it again.
