My New BlackBerry Curve 8330 Smartphone

Well, I decided to upgrade my old for a nice, new 8330 Smartphone. I thought it was about time to jump on the -on-your- bandwagon. We are planning some activities and vacations this Summer, so this will cover one base.

So, let me tell you about my experience.

I have many addresses, all forwarding to one address. It makes life a bit more simple. When I got the phone, I went through the quick setup. After that, I went in and configured an . It was basically inputting the and password. After that, I logged into and clicked “settings.” I clicked “Fowarding and POP/IMAP.” There, I enabled POP.

Then, I sent myself an . Low and behold, I received it in my and my Blackberry. Truly, I thought this was amazing. Then, I clicked delete on the Blackberry. I had the option of deleting the message from just the phone or both the phone and the . I deleted it from both the phone and the . A few seconds later, I noticed it disappear from . Again, I was stunned.

After that, I did the whole thing again, except this time, I deleted the message from first. I waited and waited for the message to disappear from the Blackberry. After a little research on the web (and ), I found out this is not possible. The messages stay on the Blackberry until they are deleted from there. Why? I have no idea. This is going to be kind of a pain in the butt, but I’ll figure something out. I did a search for “ won’t reconcile” and I think I read somewhere that if you are using the BlackBerry (or something like that), you can reconcile your messages with your client. Until I find some information, I don’t know how to reconcile the on the Blackberry with , or for that matter.

The other issue I was having was that whenever I would send an from the Blackberry or from , I would receive a copy of that on the Blackberry. I needed to find out how to stop that. I called and, while on hold, did a search for “blackberry getting copies of sent ” on . I found a nice website that instructed me to login to the Verizon Wireless Blackberry Internet Service (BIS). No one seems to tell you these things from the company. At this point, picked up and we both created an account and created a filter for my . Basically, the filter stops my own from sending me . This forum post will tell you exactly how to do that.

Otherwise, everything is very smooth. The Blackberry syncs up with my 2007 so I can have my tasks, contact list and calendar on both my PC and the Blackberry. This is not too much different from the .

I’ll let you know how it works on the streets when I have had it for a while.

Just read your posting. I have a similar problem with my oulook 2007 (Vista) and the blackberry curve. If a message is deleted on the blackberry, it is not deleted on outlook. I do not have enterprise.
    What is your experience?

Thank you so much, I’ve been looking all over trying to find out how to get my Curve NOT to send me a copy of my own e-mail. This made my night.

I just bought my Black Berry Curve. I really like it. But, Can anyone help me to manage my emails? There are emails that I really don’t want on my Black Berry and right now I have over 4,000 emails. Is there anyway we can manage them. Another thing I have searching for. Is there any way to delete more than one at a time? Thanks and I hope to hear from you real soon.

I’m not sure about managing your emails, but I do know that you can click one email, hold the “caps” key and click another email to delete more than one at a time.

Did you purchase outlook just to sync with your BB? I am trying to find a pim that I can use with the desktop and the BB so that I don’t have to type in all the contacts on the phone. I did find adgendus with a desktop application, but I am just trying to use something that I have for free.

Hold the caps button and scroll down to highlight multiple messages. Menu delete.
