But i have a easy solution, VISTA

Jokes. (not really)

my laptop is a compaq c500 and i got it to charge completely, finally, but i unplug the AC and what do you know, 5 seconds later it dies.

Looks like the only solution is XP

ok. i have an hp dv7-1135nr. i play online gaming. i didnt notice my computer was saying it was "plugged in, not charging". i used to be a computer repair guy for about 2 years before i joined the military. well, as i was on the computer it would randomly shut down compleatly. just black screen. i thought, dang, must be hard drive, its hot and it seemed like a simple hard drive failure. before i signed on here i would compleatly remove the batter and unplug it from the wall and reset it. then it would turn back on but wouldnt charge. so while plugged in i took battery out and plugged it back in. it now charges and i can unplug it. so this is working. i know it wasnt my vista becuase i am on service pack 2. i would believe that mine was shutting off because the game was drawing too much power and shutting it off.

in all, it would seem like a good fix for now would be to get it to turn on, plug it into wall, remove battery, wait a minute or too, install battery. it should now charge.

and as a side note. as of 1 hour ago my laptop was doing this issue, it wouldnt stay on for more then 15-20 minutes. i have been on this website now after the fix for an hour.
best of luck guys and girls.

Ok i had this problem twice now it it has only happened when the battery was 12% or lower. Here is what i did i took out the battery with the charging plug in waited about 2 minutes and made sure it said "no battery detected" in the battery icon in the task bar then put the battery back in and it said it was charging again.

Hope this helps,
            Andrew

WEWT :D TYSM

I read this one and decided to try it out on my ACER (See, its not always HP with the problems) and it worked:

1) make sure power cord is plugged in
2) Close lid, and make sure laptop goes into sleep mode
3) Remove battery
4) Open laptop
5) Put battery back in

This will work for some people, but not all, but it worked for me, so now i'm telling you :D

My friend used this guy in Georgia to fix his laptop for $75.00.

This is what he puts on his website as a possible idea.

The issue with the DV2000, DV6000, DV9000, TX1000, TX2000, F500, F700, D630, D830 laptops happens to be both your fan, video memory, and video card.

If you update your BIOS that will help with the overheating, and update your video card drivers directly from Nvidia for the GO6150 series.

If you do not update these files, you will need to have a BGA reflow service to fix your chipsets to restore your wireless and video. What will happen is you will get no video, all blue lights, and the system will cycle on and off every 1 to 2 minutes.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Matt
