Ever want to upload thousands of ads to a free classifieds website all in one shot? If you are a dealer or own a webstore you probably do.
That’s my pitch…how does it sound? Anyway, I just installed this nice new feature on WebClassifieds.US. You can read all about it here.
Let me know what you think. Ok?

Every Easter, Laura and I try to go to dinner at “Fife’n Drum” restaurant in Kent, CT and then hiking down at Bull’s Bridge. This has become a little tradition for us. It gives us something to look forward to during this time of year.
Yesterday was pretty fun. We got into Millbrook and took Rt.343 down to Dover, NY. 343 has some of the nicest houses on it! I just love to look at those places…horse farms and all that. Reminds me of one day in the future when I will sit with my feet up laughing at my past.
We took a bunch of back roads all the way into Kent, CT. We made it to Fife’n Drum about a half hour late, but the dude let us in anyway. The people over there in CT are a little different than the people that we live near. I am not sure they would put up with the barking dog my neighbor has. Yeah, they seem like the kind of people that might have a little problem with that, if you catch my drift.
Dinner was good, even though it was at 2PM. The thing that makes this day so much fun, is that we get to go hiking down at Bull’s Bridge after dinner.

Bull’s Bridge is a little covered wooden bridge right off Rt.7. The bridge is nice, but the hiking is nicer. There is part of the Appalachian Trail right next to it.

We go hiking all the way down to a small campground. I think it’s called 10 Mile Campground or something. It’s about a mile down the trail. There is so much to look at along the way…like an overlook and rapids and all that. It’s pretty damn cool.

We spent a few hours hiking and then came back to head up to Laura’s parents house for some dessert. Overall, I would have to say it was a rather enjoyable day. Enjoy the pics!

Remember that post where I showed you the delivery of mulch? Yeah, that was fun. Anyway, I spread that there mulch all over the place. I have been very tired for the past few days, and I think that bunch of exercise was the cause of it. Wanna see it? Ok…

…and I even mulched a whole new area of the yard…right in front of the house. This was a gift to my pretty baby. She wanted more area to plant bulbs and other plants. We have a secret hookup that brings us stuff. Hopefully this year will be a good as last year.

I can’t wait for the weather to get better. A little cold snap is moving through, so it has been kind of damp, breezy and gray. I want to see more buds and green. I suppose I just have to be patient.
I have a few more trees to plant and then I think I am going to take pictures of them and post some up here. As always, remember that the more things you plant, the better. I helps to erase your Carbon Footprint.

For about a year, I have been looking at the concrete part of our basement floor. I just sit there and look at it. No really, I have been looking at it because at times, there has been a little puddle of water and a wet area near the oil burner, or boiler, as some people call it. I always thought it was coming from somewhere in the wall along the length of the basement.
Well, last night, I just happen to be in the basement watching Laura do some laundry, and I happen to look at the air vent, or otherwise better described as the air bleeder valve on the boiler. I said, “Hmm, that looks wet to me.” I bent down to feel the bottom of the boiler and came back with a wet hand. “Sonofabitch,” I said to myself. I stopped looking at the aura of my beauty queen (Laura) and started focusing on the boiler.

I don’t know, I just always thought that these parts of a basement boiler should be rusty and ugly. Well, maybe not so much. They shouldn’t be.
I almost got a little tickling sensation in my belly at the thought of me having to fix something. Of course, such a project would require that I take a photo of the part, print a picture of it at work, bring it to Home Depot to compare to the parts there, buy a new one and then replace it. Oh what fun! While at Home Depot, I would also buy 2 more trees to erase my carbon footprint. I need 13 to do that.
Well, Home Depot didn’t have the exact one. The one that I had already installed was an Amtrol, Inc Air Vent, but I had to get a Honeywell 1/8″ Goldtop Air Vent. There were some pressure readings on the top of the new one, but I had no idea what they meant. I hoped the one I had in my hand was the correct one. Can you even imagine the stress?
I got home and installed the new part by simply unscrewing the old one and screwing on the new one. I turned the boiler back on and tested it out. It works good…a little hiss of air came out and then stopped. Good.

Seriously, who knew that someone could write a whole blog post on how to change an oil burner air vent? I guess it’s important because there were no other posts that I could find when I went to look up the topic. Now there is.

I told you I was going to start writing about gardening.
I walked out of the shower this morning to the sound of Holly barking at a truck backing into the driveway. “Oooohhhhh, my mulch is here!!!” I silently screamed to myself.

I ordered 5 yards of the fluffy black gold from the guy down the road last night. He wakes up at 4AM, so morning deliveries aren’t a problem for him. This sweet pile cost only $120. That’s $20 per yard and $20 for the delivery. I have to say, that’s a pretty good deal, considering the price of the bags of mulch at the nursery. Now I don’t have to make multiple trips to his place with my big tupperware bins to get the mulch.
I can’t wait to get home tonight. I think I am going to get naked and swim around in the pile before I spread it around. Of course, before I spread it, I will put my clothes back on.

Do you know how hard it is to find a good looking Chandelier? I mean, there are tons of them out there, but they all look so…so…Lowes or Home Depot. Kind of like, everyone will know where you got it…ya know?
We have been living here for almost 2 years and we have yet to find a Chandelier that we really love, so I made a bold decision today – I would just go buy the best one (I thought) in the store. I called Laura from Lowes and she looked online to agree that this is the most unique one for what’s out there. Even Pottery Barn and Pier One didn’t have much.

We really like the clear glass on this bad boy. It looks like it would be something like Sam Adams had in his house. While I was at Lowes, I picked up a nice dimmer switch and hooked it up to the light for an added bit of romance. You never know when there’s going to be a little extra spice in dinner. I am very romantic, you know.
Well, what do you think? You like?
PS – You better get ready for some gardening and landscaping talk. I already bought a bunch of stuff and planted it. I’ll save that for next post.
